Last week, the Orbotix developers headed to San Francisco for Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC). Not only was this an opportunity for our team to stay up-to-date on all things Apple tech, but it was also a chance to introduce third-party developers to Sphero. We couldn’t have asked for a better reception! Third-party devs were extremely excited to get introduced to Sphero, and we had our hands full demoing new apps and selling units.
We had two big events during the week. Kicking it off with a party with Push.io, we rocked the venue demoing Chromo and Exile. Devs were so ready to get hacking during the party, one guy even broke out his laptop to integrate Sphero as a controller into his unreleased ebook.
The second event was a hack night with Twilio. With only a few hours time, devs built several great demo apps for Sphero including a Sphero alarm clock, “follow the Sphero”, and a call-in color changing app.
All in all, it was a great week for the Orbotix developers on the West Coast. Be sure to catch us at Google I/O next week! We’ll be demoing yet another unreleased Sphero app and you can take Sphero for a test drive in person. Also, come to our party.
