Sphero Rocks Out at Google I/O
14 May 2011
The Android force was strong in San Francisco this weekend for Google I/O, and Sphero was right in the middle of the action. As soon as we arrived in San Francisco, we left to check out Googles digs in Mountain View. We were in good company with cutting edge technologies from iRobot, GM's EN-V, Sifteo and YikeBike among others. Our founder Adam even took a break to see what it takes to ride a bike and drive Sphero at the same time...
Back in the city, we rolled around the conference between sessions talking to Android developers about our freshly launched developer program. The sessions were amazing and Google did not disappoint with their announcements”¦or the free swag: Samsung Galaxy Tablet, Xperia PLAY phone and a Verizon Hot Spot.
But it wasn’t until Tuesday night that the real party began – the Google I/O After Hours Party. Slated for entertainment was none other than Jane’s Addiction! We were of course hanging out, listening to Jane’s Addiction do a sound check, when guitarist Dave Navarro jumped off stage to see what Sphero was all about. Check out videos of the sound check and Dave Navarro demanding to have a Sphero here.
The event was amazing and we were able to spread our message of open API and robotic balls. We said farewell to San Francisco once again and sent our best wishes to the little green Android guy. Until next time Googlers!
