Sphero goes to Google IO 2012
06 Jul 2012
Sphero knows how to party. So does Droid. That's why last week's Google I/O was a killer event for two robots in particular – Sphero and the little green Android dude. Not only did Sphero meet with developers at the convention, but DJ 5phero was there to drop the beats at the Official Sphero Party.
First things first – the Google I/O Convention at the Moscone Center in downtown San Francisco. The week was full of big announcements on Google's part, including the Nexus Q (Sphero's alter-ego, anyone?) and the launch of Android 4.1, Jelly Bean. There were even sky-divers wearing the cool Google Project Glass augmented-reality specs, who jumped from planes and landed on the roof of the convention center. Sphero was in the Developer Sandbox, rolling around the crowd of developers and demoing new apps. Our Co-Founder and Chief Software Architect, Adam, even sawed one open to give a lucky few a sneak peak at what goes on inside. Between the bots and gadgets, Sphero had a ball.
The Official Sphero Party was an event in itself. DJ 5phero had a packed house of Droid-lovers and devs, and HTC was there to give away some sweet prizes including five Jetstream Tablets and a One X. They even brought along pop-rocks! Combined with drinks, dancing, glow-sticks, and demo of an unreleased app, the night was an event to remember. If you weren't there to partake in the festivities, check out our Google IO 2012 recap video below. And don't forget to join us next time for some robot rock.
